Obituary for Ann Bivens

Annie "Ann" Rosie Hoyle Bivens, 87 of Lynn Mountain Road, Vale, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at her residence.

Born in Lincoln County, NC on March 1, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Albert Hoyle and Rosie Mae Crotts Hoyle. Mrs. Bivens was retired from Lexington Plant #15 in Conover and was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Larry Cook and three sisters, Melmer Cook, Beulah Randall and Pauline Bivens.

Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Claude Edgar Bivens; daughter, Sheila Cook of Vale; son, Rick Bivens and wife, Cynthia of Blackburn; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Bivens (Kristie), Jennifer Bivens, Chrystal Price (Derek) and Steven Cook; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and a half sister, Alice Byrd of Morganton.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Macedonia United Methodist Church.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 3:00pm at Macedonia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony Matthews officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery.
