Obituary for Annie McKee Greene
Annie Sue McKee Greene, 95, of Polkville, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain.
Born in Cleveland County, on October 16, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Everett McKee and Pearl Louise Philbeck Costner. She was retired from the Dover Company and then worked part-time at Polkville School. Mrs. Greene was a charter member of Polkville Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James Oliver Greene and three brothers, Lewis Scruggs, Harold Scruggs and C.B. Scruggs and a sister, Virginia Sigmon.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Wayne Greene (Evelyn) of Auburn, Alabama; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel Walker (Rev. Glenn Walker) of Polkville; a brother, Billy Scruggs of Patterson Springs; a sister, Etta Mae Turner of Caroleen; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas Greene (Christina), Dr. Jonas Greene (Van), Josiah Greene (Heidi), Jimmy Walker (Bobbie) and Jonya Smith (Chris); 11 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Polkville Baptist Church.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 2:00pm at Polkville Baptist Church with the Rev. Will Davis and Rev. Glenn Walker officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
