Barbara and I were teenagers together at Plains View Baptist Church. We remained friends even though I lived in Charlotte, NC for many years. In 2009, I moved back to Cherryville, just a few miles from her apartment at Carolina Care. We stayed in touch by phone. During this year, I would stop by the front window and drop off small gifts and cards since I couldn't go in to visit. On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, I dropped off a Christmas card. I didn't know that she had been moved to the hospital. The ladies at the frond desk seem to be confused as to whether to accepted the card. Then they told me they would place it in her room. I realize that regulation did not let them share with me what had happened. It was much later that I learned of her passing. To her sister, son and other family members, I share your sorrow for the loss of such a sweet lady. She deserves the peace and joy she has now, but there will be a hole in my heart until we all see her again. Linda Carpenter Moreau

Eugene, my thoughts and prayers are with you in the loss of your mom. Lots of memories from our days in Fallston and thru the years since that time when I would see her, she always went out of her way to speak, hug, and ask about family. Always had a pleasant smile. Our God is ever present to be there with us in grief and all of our life. Diane Rabon

I have known Barbara for many years. We attended church together and my children grew up with Eugene. Barbara was one of the sweetest people you would ever meet. Always smiling and a kind word for everyone. I am so sorry for your loss. Peace and comfort that only God can give.
