Obituary for Betty Greene London

Betty Greene London, 91, of Polkville, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Hospice at Wendover, Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, on May 16, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Paul Greene and Mozelle Elizabeth Heafner Greene. Mrs. London was retired from Cleveland County Schools in food services. A life time member of Polkville United Methodist Church where she was in the choir and the United Methodist Women.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Clarence Edward London and brother, JP Greene, Jr.

She is survived by her two daughters, Karla Cline and husband, Steve of Lawndale and Sandy Costner and husband, Jeff of Cherryville; two brothers, Larry Greene and wife, Betty of Burlington and Don Greene of Denver; two grandchildren, Jeff Cline and wife, Tracy of Vale and Morgan Costner of Fletcher; and two great grandchildren, Nathan & Nora Cline.

Mrs. London will lie in state at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The family will not be present at this time.

A graveside service will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM at Polkville United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Lovelace officiating.
