Obituary for Gene Norman
Clemmie Eugene "Gene" Norman, 83, of Lawndale, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at home.
Born in Cleveland County on December 11, 1938, he was a son of the late Emmett Norman and Ruby Turner Norman Page. He was retired from Carolina Dairy, Burns and Spangler and Gene Norman Auto Sales. He was a member of Double Shoals Baptist Church and Lawndale Masonic Lodge #486.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Norman and two sisters, Wanda Conley and Burnette Hayes.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Sylvia Ann Silver Norman; one son, Donny Norman of Lawndale; one daughter, Amanda Hollifield and husband Duane of Lawndale; four grandchildren, Justin Norman and wife Amanda, Summer Norman and husband Cameron Tate, Kasey Hollifield and Elizabeth Anderson and husband Dwayne and two great grandchildren, Jackston Norman and Gracelyn Tate.
The body will lie-in-state on Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home. The family will not be present during this time.
The graveside service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Double Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Brian Johnson officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Double Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Double Shoals Baptist Church, 318 Old Mill Rd., Shelby, NC 28150.
