Obituary for Donald Lee Williams
Donald Lee Williams, 80, of Casar, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.
Born in Lansing County, Michigan, on December 6, 1940, he was a son of the late Kenneth Earl Williams and Betty Loraine Peck Creaser. He was retired from Unisys and Carolina Healthcare System. In his retirement he worked as an usher for the Charlotte Coliseum where he would enjoy events and basketball games. Donald also helped his wife with her catering until her passing. He was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and a US Navy Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his wife of twenty-nine years Brenda McNeilly Williams; brother, Bruce Williams; and two sisters, Nancy Holmes and Judith (Judy) McNeely.
He survived by three sons, Tony Streukens and wife Michelle of Gainsville, FL, Bruce Streukens and wife Mo of Salt Lake City, UT, and Greg Streukens and wife Angel of Gainsville, FL; one daughter, Kristin Bradish and husband Jason of Salt Lake City, UT; two stepsons, Mark Chapman and wife, Tabatha of Casar and Ben Chapman and wife, Kim of Shelby; stepdaughter, Sharon Brackett and husband Harrill of Casar; one brother, Kenneth Williams and wife Pat of Honor, MI; one uncle, Larry Peck and wife Joanne of Ovid, MI; a special nephew, Brad McNeely and wife Emily of Lake Wyle; fourteen grandchildren, Olivia Streukens, Madeline Streukens, Otto Streukens, Seth Bradish, Austin Streukens, Aiden Streukens, Whitney Cannon and husband John, Brittany Waters and husband CJ, Heather Downs and husband Justin, Sarah Chapman, Kelsey Blanton, Alex Chapman amd wife Jessica, Trinity Chapman and Tylar Hoyle; and nine great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from Noon to 1:00 PM, in the Big Springs Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Big Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Scott officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
