Obituary for Doris Porter Cook
Doris Jeane Porter Cook, 83 , of Lawndale , passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.
Born in Gaston County, on December 4, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Edleman Phillip Porter and Aileen Stirewalt Porter. She was retired from the Senior Center and was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Edward Jimmy Porter and an infant sister, Martha Kaye Porter.
Survivors include one son, Phillip Cook and wife, Tabitha of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Renee Wilson and husband, Terry of Lawndale; one sister, Joyce Brown of Shelby; six grandchildren, Justin Cook and fiancee Bre Justice of Kings Mountain, Dustin Wilson and wife, Megan of Lawndale, Zachary Wilson of Lawndale, Madison Green of Kings Mountain, Cameron Green of Kings Mountain and Ella Green of Kings Mountain and one great granddaughter, Gracelynne Wilson of Lawndale.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Grover at 6:00PM with the Rev. Scott Kierstead officiating.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing is required.
Burial will be private.
Memorials may be made to the Neal Senior Center, 100 T.R. Harris Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
