Obituary for Harold Calvin Spurling
Harold Calvin Spurling, 77, of Shelby, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2022 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center, Shelby.
Born in Cleveland County, on December 6, 1944 , he was the son of the late Romie Calvin Spurling and Ruby Lee Goins Spurling. He was retired from Cleveland County Schools in the maintenance department and a member of Faith Baptist Church, Shelby. He was also a former Boy Scout Den Leader.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his two sisters Janice Sigmon and Carolyn Barnett.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years Carolyn Emory Spurling; brother, Earnest Wray Spurling and wife Wilma of Shelby; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice Cleveland County and Cleveland Pines Nursing Center for all the care they provided during Mr. Spurling's declining health.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 13, 2022 , at 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm , at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr J. Barry Goodman and Rev. Johnny Owens officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
