Helen Elizabeth Wise Williams, 78, of Lawndale, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain .
A native of Gaston County, she was born on May 14, 1942. Elizabeth grew up in Ranlo, NC but loved spending time in the country. She obtained an associated degree from Gaston Community College, a bachelors degree from UNC Chapel Hill and Masters in Education from UNC Charlotte. She would retire from Cleveland Community College where she taught for many years. Elizabeth was also a partner with her late husband in Rusty Gates Books. She also loved to work in her flower garden and tending to her birds and cats.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph S. Wise; mother, Helen Wise Oliver and husband Reefer A. Oliver; husband, Robert Leonard Williams, Sr.; brother, Joe Wise; sister, Dee Gunnersen and sister-in-law, Brenda Wise.
She is survived by her son, Robert L. Williams, III; sister, Candy Bridges and husband Mel; niece, Melanie Rick; three nephews, Derek Rick and wife Missy, Scott Wise and Todd Wise; and great nieces Hunter Walters and Lauren Williams.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Polkville Baptist Church with the Rev. Will Davis officiating.
