Obituary for Jim Bowman
James "Jim" Bailey Bowman, 83 of Dick Spangler Road, Shelby, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at his residence.
Born in Cleveland County, NC on July 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Hal Matthew Bowman and Neva Towery Bowman. He was retired from Carolina Energy after 40 years of service and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. Mr. Bowman also served in the Army.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Roberts Bowman; son-in-law, Benny Price; brother, Mike Bowman and two sisters, Joann Goodman and Ruth Bowman.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Price of Shelby; son, Eddie Bowman and wife, Leslie of Stanley; seven grandchildren, Nicole Jones, Matthew Mode, Leah Ledbetter, Caroline, Tate, Maigan and Seth Bowman; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel.
The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
