Obituary for Janice B. Greene
Janice "Janie" Rebecca Bollinger Greene, 72 , of Cherryville, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at home.
Born in Catawba County, on February 7, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Alvin Claude Bollinger, Sr. and Carley Glenna Rabey Bollinger. She was retired from Lincoln County Schools and was a member of Bess Chapel United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was very active in the North Brook Community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Lee Greene; five brothers, Bobby Joe Bollinger and wife Betty, Franklin Bollinger and wife Hazelene, Alvin "Ace" Bollinger, Jr., Benny "Bink" Ray Bollinger and Charles "Butch" Bollinger and three sisters, Glenna Duncan and husband Buck, Jean Bumgarner and Louise Bollinger Webb.
Survivors include her husband of fifty four years, Arnold Edwin Greene; two daughters, Jennie Rebecca Greene Hogan and husband Eric of Gastonia and Susan Elizabeth Greene Bridges and husband Steve of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Phillip Ethan Parker of Lincolnton and Harley Scronce of Cherryville; two brothers, Daniel Bollinger and wife Jewel of Hickory and Ricky Lee Bollinger and wife Michelle of Hickory; one brother-in-law, Jerry Bumgarner of Hickory and two sisters-in-law, Peggy Bollinger of Hickory and Brenda Bollinger of Hickory.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at Bess Chapel United Methodist Church .
The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday at11:00 am at Bess Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alice Day, Rev. George Williams and Rev. Randi Godfrey officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bess Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Linda Towery, 2357 Bess Chapel Church Rd., Cherryville, NC 28021.
