Obituary for Jimmy Morrison

Jimmy Wayne Morrison, 74 of St. Paul Church Road, Lawndale, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Atrium Health - Cleveland in Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, on December 31, 1947, he was the son of the late Earl James Morrison and Ethel Francis Bridges Morrison. He was the owner and operator of Morrison's Custom Cabinets and was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. Jimmy served on the Board of Directors for Casar Volunteer Fire Department for many years and also served in the US Army where he was stationed in South Korea during the Vietnam era. He loved fishing with friends and family. He enjoyed playing softball during his earlier years as well as coaching youth basketball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Grady Brooks Morrison and two brothers, Richard Morrison and wife Gale, and Tommy Morrison.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Dianne Meade Morrison; son, Brad Morrison and wife, Sarah of Casar; daughter, Leslie Mosteller and husband, Danny of Casar; two grandsons, Gram and Reed Morrison; brother, Donald Morrison and wife, Margaret of Belwood; sister-in-law, Beth Morrison of Casar. Jimmy also leaves behind a truly loving extended family of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship building.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Fulbright officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
