Obituary for Judy Costner
Judy Carnelia Newton Costner, 68 of Hull Road, Casar, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at her residence.
Born in Cleveland County, on December 14, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Romie Vasco Newton and Mary Maude Carnelia Bivens Newton. Judy was retired from Broughton Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Newton and sister, Janette Stamey.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Kenneth R. Costner; son, Jason Costner and wife, April of Casar; daughter, Kelly Elledge and husband, Mitchell of Casar; two brothers, Vernon Newton of Casar and Steve Newton of Lawndale; eight grandchildren, Megan Shadburn and husband, Caleb, Lara Wellmon, Leslie Wellmon, Paden Costner, Cameron Elledge, Lucas Wellmon, Emily Elledge and Amelia Elledge and a very special great nephew and caregiver Jason Timothy Costner "AKA Big Deb".
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at St. Paul Baptist Church, Casar.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 3:00 pm at St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Fulbright officiating.
