Obituary for Julia Beam Nail

Cherryville '“ Mary Julia Beam Nail, age 76, peacefully took her last earthly breath on a sunny Friday afternoon November 9, 2007. Born on December 29, 1930, Julia was the oldest child of Mabel Farnsworth and Claude Clifton Beam of Cherryville, NC. Julia was a graduate of Tryon High School and Lenoir '“ Rhyne College where she earned a teaching degree. She was a dedicated mother who nurtured her four children to see and understand the world as God'™s creation. Her children include Sylvia, who went ahead of her mother to rest with the saints, Katrina Nail Freeman and husband Ronnie of Mooresville, NC, David Nail and wife Carolee of Cary, NC, Lester Nail and wife Lindacarol, of Spartanburg, SC, Mrs. Nail has one living sibling, David C. Beam of Cherryville, NC, her other brother Kermit preceded her in death. In addition, she was a loving and devoted grandmother, 'œNana' to Devin and Julie Freeman, Paul and Ben Nail and Sarah and Olivia Nail. Julia loved teaching children and impacted the lives of many youth at St. John'™s Lutheran Church in Cherryville. She was also a successful business woman; part owner and office manager of Cherryville Insurance Agency, running the day to day operations of the agency for over fifteen years. Julia was a student of history and protector of the environment and all things that God has made. She was an avid naturalist. She particularly loved the North Carolina Mountains. Bird watching and reading were her favorite pastimes. Julia will be remembered for her tireless support of out-reach programs and community projects at Cross and Crown Lutheran Church in Matthews, NC. She had compassion for all people in need. Julia touched many lives. She was strong in her faith and confident of her salvation. She has now been made perfect through the grace of her Lord Jesus Christ and has con home to her heavenly Father. A graveside Memorial service celebrating her life will be held at St. John'™s Lutheran Church in Cherryville, NC on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the out-reach ministries of Cross and Crown Lutheran Church, 300 Pineville Matthews Rd., Matthews, NC 28105.
