Dearest Lynn and Alan,
Your Mother first introduced herself to me and my Piedmont High School class of 1956 classmates when we entered her chemistry classroom. She was a great teacher, and I really enjoyed being a part of her class. Little did I know at that time how much our lives would entwine over the years. Both of us were active in Baptist churches and accepted many roles, especially that of WMU leaders, which often brought us to the same GCCBA meetings. A very long lasting friendship with Lou Jean was a gift I treasure. Prayers for all of you as you adjust to life without her earthly presence.

Maybe the best teacher I ever had at Piedmont High. She taught Chemistry although she was certified in Home Economics, but she was such a good teacher that I sailed through freshman Chemistry at NC State and got a degree in Chemical Engineering. I'm so glad I got the chance to tell her that a few years ago.
