Obituary for Mabel Owens
Mabel Toney Owens, 94 of E. Zion Church Road, Shelby, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at her residence.
Born in Cleveland County, NC on June 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Burrell Toney and Minnie McFarland Toney. Mrs. Owens was retired from Celanse and was a member of Double Shoals United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Owens, Jr.; a son, Tony Owens; two daughters, Rebecca Jaynes Dalton and Margie Jones and a sister, Rachel Johnson, and friend, Hubert Langford.
Survivors include her son, Donald Owens of Shelby; two sisters, Norma Hoyle of Lawndale and Janice Kaye Eudy of Mint Hill; four grandchildren, Steve Jaynes, Joy Jaynes, Robin Short and Donald Owens, Jr. and four great-grandchildren, Cody Short, Matthew Short, Hannah Page and James Dakota Owens.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Double Shoals United Methodist Church.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11:00am at Double Shoals United Methodist Church with the Rev. Claudia Harrelson officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
