Obituary for Mary Alice Laughlin
Mary Alice Hendrick Laughlin, 85, of Shelby, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at White Oak Manor, Shelby.
Born in Cleveland County on August 27, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Conan Doyle Hendrick and Margaret Louella Wright Hendrick. Mrs. Laughlin was retired from Cleveland County Tax Office and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Robin Newton; two brothers, CD Hendrick, Jr. and William "Billy" Hendrick; two sisters, Marshall Ann Williams and Juanita Hoyle and one great grandson, Gavin Harmon.
Survivors include son, David Laughlin of Fallston; sister, Joyce Strickland of Shelby; grandchildren, Jimi Bivins and partner, Heather Green, Ashley Bivins and Heather Newton and great grandchildren, Ashlin Bivins, Layne Galloway, Dylan Bivins, Jeremiah Aguero and Rylan Harmon.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, 2023 from 12:00pm to 12:45pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 1:00pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Black officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
