Obituary for Evelyn Parker Leatherman
Evelyn Parker Leatherman, 96 of Angela Court, Lincolnton, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 at her residence.
Born in Gaston County, NC on October 6, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Reid Parker and Cordie Wright Parker. Mrs. Leatherman was a member of First Baptist Church in Lincolnton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Leatherman, Jr.; sister, Lois Graham and five brothers, Clinton Parker, John Parker, Blaine Parker, Hoyte Parker and Reid Parker.
Survivors include son, Stephen Parker Leatherman and wife, Debbie of Miami, Florida, son, John F. Leatherman, III and wife, Joan of Salisbury, daughter, Barbara L. Skinner and husband, Steve of Waynesville, OH, and son, Michael Frank Leatherman and wife, Cindy of Charlotte; eight grandchildren, Stephen B. (Andy) Leatherman, Sandra (Homer) Leatherman, Matthew (Keisha) Leatherman, Anna (Steven) Nigh, Cory (Michaela) Skinner, Garrett (Rachel) Skinner, Daniel Leatherman and Jeremy Leatherman; and five great grandchildren, Maya and Josie Leatherman, Evelyn Raye Skinner, Emma Elizabeth Leatherman and Walt Nigh; two brothers, Ray (Mary Lou) Parker of Lincolnton and Stowe Parker of Burlington and a sister, Edna Brendle of Cherryville.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at First Baptist Church, Lincolnton.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Lincolnton with the Dr. Stanley W. Spence officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Bethlehem Community Church Cemetery in Cherryville.
