Obituary

Mary Lou Poole McCombs, 83 , of Lawndale , passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Carolinas Medical Center - Main , Charlotte .

Born in Cleveland County on August 23, 1937 , she was the daughter of the late Johnnie David Poole and Minnie Rosetta Earl Poole. She was retired from Shadowline and was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and VBS helper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Johnnie Poole, Howard Poole, Jack Poole and Carl Poole and four sisters, Vangie Hoyle, Pauline Ledford, Inez Brackett and Thelma Porter.

Survivors include her husband of fifty eight years, Alvin Gaston McCombs; daughter, Judy Searcy and husband Mark of Fallston; son, Kirby McCombs of Connelly Springs; grandson, Benjamin Searcy and wife Harley of Lincolnton and three step great grandchildren, Gavin, Alyssa and Morgan.

The graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 4:00 pm at Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Terrill Crump officiating.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Olive Grove Baptist Church c/o Eva Walker, 123 Jesse Mountain Rd., Casar, NC 28020.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Fallston, NC.

My family meet Mary Lou at our consignment shop in Kings Mountain and her and Alvin became instant friends and family. I will miss the talks and laughs me and her had when they stopped by to look around or to just say hi.

We truly loved this lady and appreciate all the time she and Alvin came by to visit Rick during his illness. Such a precious soul and we will fondly remember her in our hearts! May God bless the family in the coming days, weeks, and months ahead.

Please know that Gene & I are praying for you and all the family and friends. We truly enjoy visiting with Mary Lou and Alvin when we each could get together. May God continue to Bless and comfort you as you continue with this last journey with your family member. We saw Mary Lou as a caring and loving Lady. Heaven gained another Angel.

I remember when Mary lot and Alvin came to my mom and dad house after years of not k ow ing my grandpa side of the family they cared enough to search my mom out we was truly blessed to have meet her and her be a part of our lives she will bemissed
