Obituary for Inez Mellon Philbeck
A devoted loving mother, Inez Mellon Philbeck, 87, of Shelby, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
Born in Cleveland County, on January 8, 1935, she was a daughter of the late James Franklin Mellon and Macie Jane Philbeck Mellon. She was retired from textiles and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Grover Philbeck; two sons, Richard Wayne Philbeck and Gary Neil Philbeck; a brother, Herman Mellon, and a sister, Iva Moore.
She is survived by a son, Mike Philbeck and wife Diane of Shelby; two daughters, Shirley Philbeck and Sandy Charles both of Shelby; a sister, Virginia Pearson of Shelby; nine grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 9m at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs Dr. Barry Goodman and Bill Jones officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Friendly Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
