Obituary for Recca W. Grigg
Recca Wright Grigg of Shelby, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022 at her residence.
Born in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John Lawson Wright and Nora Adeline Grigg Wright. Mrs. Grigg was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Grigg; son, David Lawson Grigg; four brothers, Onley Wright, J.S. Wright, Stough Wright and W.G. Wright and seven sisters, Izene Lail, Verda Wright, Connie Yarbrough, Velma McSwain, Elsie Hoyle, Mary Etta Spain and Leah Fortenbury.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Grigg Cooke and husband, Jerry of Simpsonville, SC and Phyllis Grigg Shirley and husband, Mack of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Stephen "Robbie" Cooke, Shannon Alford and husband, Jarrod and Brandon Shirley and two great-grandchildren, Brenna Cooke and Emerson Cooke.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Black officiating.
