Obituary for Richard Dean Stinchcomb

Richard Dean Stinchcomb, 64, of Howser Drive, Casar, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory.

Born in Cleveland County, on July 28, 1958, he was a son of the late Freddie "Fred" Eugene Stinchcomb and Ruby Elaine Houser Stinchcomb. Richard was a master carpenter, mechanic, welder and farmer who could fix any thing that could be fixed. He was a self employed carpenter for fourteen years and worked in maintenance for the NC Department of Corrections for sixteen years. He was also a very active member of New Home United Methodist Church.

Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who leaves behind a wife of forty-three years, Glenda Dellinger Stinchcomb; two sons, Dean Stinchcomb and Emily McGee of Fallston and Kyle Stinchcomb and Amy Sowell of Fallston; daughter Carrie Andrews and wife, Katie of Durham; brother Gene Stinchcomb of Fallston; two sisters, Patricia Hamrick and husband Brian and Jane Packard and husband Neil all of Mooresboro; grandchildren Cyndi Stinchcomb, Hunter Stinchcomb and Kaiden Henderson; numerous loving nieces and nephews and a special uncle and aunt, Paul and Irene Houser of Casar.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 26, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of Mr. Stinchcomb.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 2:00 pm at New Home United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eddie Padgett officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
