Obituary for Ruth Creach
Ruth Blanton Creach, 94 of Polkville, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at White Oak Manor, Shelby.
She was born in Cleveland County to Tommie and Lula Glenn Blanton. She graduated from Polkville High School and attended Blanton's Business College in Asheville. Ruth was employed by J.L. Suttle Insurance Agency for 12 years as bookkeeper and general office worker. During this time, she attended the Institute of Insurance in Chapel Hill, receiving her license as a general insurance agent.
While her children were young she worked part time at the First National Bank. In 1971, Ruth went to work at Shelby Savings and Loan Association and retired after 18 years of service. After her retirement she worked part time for a number of years for the Security Insurance Agency in Fallston. Ruth was a member of Polkville Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Fredrick Creach; a sister, Mary Helen B. Bradley and three brothers, Eugene Blanton, J.B. Blanton and Jack Blanton.
She is survived by her children, Rev. Dr. Jerome F. Creach and wife, Rev. Dr. Page Davis Creach of Pittsburgh, PA and Carmen C. Johnson and husband, Darryl Johnson of Acworth, GA; four grandchildren, Adair Creach (Chris) Arbor; Davis Creach; Ashley Johnson (John) Morris; Mary Kathryn Johnson (Lisandro) Sagastume; four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Doris B. Bettis of Earl and Sue B. Martin and husband, William A. Martin of Fallston.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 25, 2022 from 1:30PM to 3:00PM at Polkville Baptist Church.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 3:00PM at Polkville Baptist Church with the Rev. Will Davis officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Polkville Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Polkville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 245, Polkville, NC 28136.
