Obituary for Steve Davis
Steve Davis, 88, of Vale, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at home with his family by his side.
Born in Lincoln County, on September 14, 1934, he was a son of the late Claude Lee Davis and Gertie Reep Davis. He was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church and was a plumber by trade. Steve enjoyed his times fishing and hunting with friends and family.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Ruppe; seven brothers, JC, OB, Wilford, Aaron, Jones, Avid and Glenn Davis and three sisters, Alma Motz, Lois Hastings, and Shirley Stevens.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Artie Cook Davis; son Michael Davis and wife Pamela of Vale; two daughters, Elaine Buff and husband Jerry and Scottie Matthews and husband Kenneth all of Vale; nine grandchildren, Brandi Leatherman and husband Randy, Brent Davis, Misty Johnson and husband Dwight, Tiffany Matthews, Chad Matthews, Lanny Bivens and wife Lynn, Chasta Buff, Chris Buff and wife Lisa, and Shawn Buff; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Christy, Rev. Jonathon Lemaster-Smith and Rev Jennifer Forrester officiating.
A private burial will follow the service in the Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery.
