Obituary for Thomas Beall

Thomas Moseley Beall, 64, of Gastonia, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2022 at Atrium Health-Shelby.

Born January 25, 1958, to Andrew Jackson Beall III and Betty Long Beall Patterson, in Charlotte, NC.

Tom spent his childhood living on Beckford Drive, then on Sardis Road, and made lifelong friends in each place. During his school years he was a member of Sardis Presbyterian Church. As a member of Boy Scout Troop 33, he earned the rank of Eagle. Tom attended East Mecklenburg High School and graduated from Camden Military Academy, where he played football and was a member of their military drill team. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He loved motorcycles, enjoyed riding and trips with others. He was also an avid reader. Tom's career was in transportation, logging several decades of safe driving hours serving others and as an instructor for beginning drivers. His over-the-road career allowed him to tour much of the country and served his interest in people, history, and the beauty of America. Tom was a hugger, loved to laugh, big-hearted, enjoyed a good joke, and entertained people with his stories.

Tom is survived by his wonderful son and daughter, Justin Thomas Beall and Ana Jordan Beall, and their mother, Kimberly Cobb Beall. He will be greatly missed by his fiancée and love of his life, Cathy Lynn Meadows.

Tom is also survived by his mother, Betty Beall Patterson, his two brothers, Andy (Laura) and Ben (Mary), and their families including nephews Andrew Jackson Beall IV, Jackson Mitchell Beall, and niece, Sara Elijah Beall.

Services will be held at a later date.
