Obituary for Edgar Brackett
Zemmie Edgar Brackett, 89 of Brown Road, Cherryville, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at his residence.
Born in Lincoln County, NC on October 12, 1933, he was the son of the late Clarence D. Brackett, Sr. and Mattie Mosteller Brackett. Mr. Brackett was retired from Carolina Freight Carriers as a truck driver. He was a member of Normans Grove Baptist Church where he was a former deacon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Eddie Warren Brackett; four brothers, Lee Brackett, Carl Brackett, Lonnie Brackett and C.D. Brackett and eight sisters, Lona Brackett, Ethel Brackett, Pauline Unverzagt, Geneva Colvard, Rebecca Osborne, Eva Hoyle, Evelyn Smith and Virginia Brooks.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Corene Davis Brackett; two sons, Tommy Brackett and wife, Wanda of Easley, SC and Eddie Brackett of Cherryville; two daughters, Mari Simpson and husband, Rick of Vale and Sheri Boyles and husband, Doyle of Vale; brother, Fred Brackett and wife, Nancy of Lancaster, SC; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Brackett's caregivers, Debbie Greene and Revanda Beach for all of their care.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 3:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Decker and Dr. Wade Dellinger officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Reeps Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
